LED Neon Signs Singapore

Custom LED neon signs, designed, bent and finished in our own Singapore workshop. Whether you want your logo glowing above a cafe counter, a feature piece for a reception wall, or a bright shopfront sign that still reads clearly at 10pm, we make it to your artwork rather than picking from a catalogue. Every neon sign we quote is sized, mounted and wired for the space it is actually going into.

What is LED neon signage?

LED neon signage is flexible LED strip encased in a soft silicone or PVC sleeve, shaped by hand to follow your lettering or logo, then mounted onto a backing board. It gives you the same continuous glowing line as traditional glass neon, but without the glass tubing, the pressurised gas or the high-voltage transformer. Because the sleeve diffuses the light evenly, the line looks solid rather than a row of dots.

Most Singapore businesses now choose LED neon over glass for practical reasons. It runs on low voltage, stays cool enough to touch, survives knocks that would shatter glass, and draws a fraction of the power. It is also far easier to transport and install in a tight shop unit or a lift lobby. Glass neon still has a genuine collector’s appeal, but for a working business sign that has to run twelve hours a day, LED neon is the more sensible buy.

At a glance

  • Low voltage and cool to the touch, safe for public spaces
  • Roughly 80 percent less power draw than glass neon
  • Shatter resistant silicone sleeve, no gas tubing
  • Any font, logo or shape you can supply as artwork
  • Indoor and outdoor rated options available
  • Dimmable, with remote or wall switch control

Why businesses pick LED neon

Cheap to run all day
A typical shopfront neon sign draws less power than a household light bulb, so you can leave it on through opening hours without watching the meter.
Built for Singapore humidity
The silicone sleeve does not corrode, and outdoor units are sealed against rain and the wash-down cleaning most shopfronts get.
Genuinely custom, not catalogue
We bend to your artwork. If you send a logo, we match the curves and the colour rather than approximating it with the nearest stock shape.
Safe where people gather
Low voltage and low heat means it can sit within reach of customers and staff, which matters for cafes, clinics and anywhere children are around.

Where LED neon signs work

The same material suits very different jobs. These are the settings we are asked for most.

Cafes and coffee bars
A warm glowing logo behind the counter that customers photograph and post without being asked.
Bars and pubs
Bright feature lettering that pulls walk-ins after dark, when your painted signage disappears.
Retail shopfronts
A neon logo in the display window that stays legible from across a mall walkway.
Reception and lobbies
A clean, modern first impression on the wall visitors face when the lift doors open.
Events and weddings
Custom phrases and names for backdrops, photo corners and stage sets, reusable across events.
Offices and studios
Brand lettering in meeting rooms, breakout areas and anywhere you film content.
Showrooms and salons
Soft accent lighting that flatters product displays and treatment areas without harsh glare.
Restaurants and food halls
Menu callouts, stall names and order-here markers that read clearly in a busy hawker or food hall setting.

Chinese character and double happiness neon signs

Chinese lettering is one of the harder things to get right in neon, and it is where imported signs most often disappoint. Strokes have to keep their proper weight and spacing, and a character bent carelessly reads as wrong to anyone who can actually read it. We set out the characters properly before any bending starts, and we will show you the layout at full size first.

The double happiness character is our most requested single piece, mostly for weddings and for restaurants that want something recognisably traditional in a modern material. We also make shop names, auspicious phrases and family names in both simplified and traditional forms, in red, gold-toned warm white, or a colour matched to the rest of your branding. If you are pairing it with a traditional signboard, we can match the colour across both pieces.

Design options and what drives the spec

Most of the cost and most of the look comes down to four choices. Getting these settled early is what keeps a quote accurate.

  • Backing board: clear acrylic for a floating look, cut-to-shape to follow your letters, or a solid colour panel for maximum contrast
  • Sleeve colour: warm white, cool white, red, pink, blue, green, amber, purple, or a mix across one piece
  • Sign size: measured by the overall board, not the letter height, so a wide logo costs more than a tall one of the same character count
  • Mounting: wall standoffs, flush mount, hanging chain or free standing on a base
  • Control: on and off switch, dimmer, remote, or wired into an existing timer so it turns itself off overnight
  • Rating: indoor units, or IP65 rated builds sealed for covered outdoor and semi-exposed positions

If you are weighing neon against a lit box or built-up letters, our lightbox signage and frontlit signage pages cover how those compare on brightness and running cost.

Indoor or outdoor: which build you need

Indoor LED neon is the standard build and suits anything behind glass or under cover. If the sign is going somewhere it can be rained on, splashed during cleaning, or exposed to direct afternoon sun, you need the outdoor build, which uses a sealed sleeve, a weatherproof housing for the driver, and marine grade fixings so the mounts do not rust and streak your wall.

The honest trade-off is cost. An outdoor build typically runs noticeably more than the indoor equivalent of the same size. It is worth it if the position genuinely gets weather, and a waste if the sign sits two metres inside a covered shopfront. We will tell you which one your position actually needs when we come and look, rather than defaulting you to the more expensive build.

What LED neon signs cost in Singapore

Signage pricing in Singapore ranges from around S$300 to S$3,500 for a standard shopfront or office piece, depending on material, size and lighting. LED neon sits across that range depending mostly on how much tube length your design needs, which is driven by letter count and script complexity rather than board size alone.

Small indoor piecesfrom around S$300 to S$700Short phrases, a single word, or a compact logo on a cut-to-shape backing. Typical for reception walls, event backdrops and home studios.
Mid-size signs and 3D letteringaround S$800 to S$2,800Full business names, longer phrases and multi-colour logos, including most cafe, bar and retail shopfront pieces.
Large or illuminated facade workS$2,500 to S$5,000 and aboveLarge outdoor builds, high-level installation needing scaffolding or a boom lift, and combined neon plus lightbox or metal signage.

These are indicative ranges to help you budget, not a quote. The figure that matters comes after a site measurement, because access, mounting surface and power position change the install cost more than most people expect. Site visits are free and there is no obligation to proceed.

How we work

Every job runs the same way, so you always know what happens next.

Free site visit and design
We measure the space, check the power position and mounting surface, then mock your artwork up to scale so you can see the real proportions before committing.
Bending and assembly
The tube is shaped to your artwork in our workshop at Joo Seng Road, mounted to the backing and tested lit before it leaves us.
Delivery and installation
Our own team installs, levels and wires the sign, tidies the cabling, and shows you the controls before we go.

Made here or shipped in: what actually differs

Plenty of neon sold in Singapore is ordered from overseas listings and drop shipped. It is usually cheaper on the sticker, and for a simple English word in a common colour it can be perfectly fine. The problems show up with anything bespoke.

What you give up is the proof stage and the recourse. You approve a small image on a screen rather than a scaled layout, so kerning, stroke weight and true colour are a gamble, and Chinese characters especially tend to come back subtly wrong. If a section fails in month four, you are shipping it back rather than having someone come out. There is also no one to check the mounting surface or the power position before it arrives, which is where most installation surprises come from. Making it locally costs more up front and removes those risks.

Power, installation and looking after it

LED neon runs on low voltage through a driver, so the sign itself is safe to be near. The driver still has to be connected to mains supply, and in Singapore any permanent mains connection should be done by a licensed electrical worker. We position the driver where it can be reached for servicing rather than sealing it somewhere awkward.

Maintenance is close to nothing. Wipe the sleeve with a damp cloth when it gets dusty and avoid solvent cleaners, which cloud the silicone. LED emitters commonly last well beyond 30,000 hours of use, and the driver is usually the first part to need replacing rather than the tube. If a section does stop lighting, it can normally be repaired in place rather than remade, which is a real advantage over glass.

One thing worth checking early: signage fixed to a building facade, projecting over a walkway, or on a conservation shophouse may need approval, and your landlord or mall management will usually have their own signage guidelines. Requirements vary by premises, so confirm the current rules for your unit before fabrication starts. We design with the likely approval path in mind so you are not redoing artwork later.

Why businesses choose Creative Sign

We design, fabricate and install under one roof from our workshop at 126 Joo Seng Road, so the person who measured your wall is connected to the person who bends the tube. That keeps the colour, proportions and finish consistent with what you approved, and it means one point of contact if you need an adjustment later. We work to your brand artwork rather than nudging you toward whatever is easiest to produce.

LED neon is one part of our range. We also make acrylic signage, lightbox signage, backlit signage, building signage and metal signage for businesses across the island. You can see the full range on our signage Singapore page.

Licensing, insurance and warranty

An LED neon sign runs at low voltage, but the driver still connects to mains supply, and in Singapore that connection should be made by a BCA-Licensed Electrical Worker. We hold that licence, so the sign is built, installed and connected by the same team in one visit rather than needing a separate electrician booked afterwards.

We carry public liability insurance for all on-site work. Fabrication is warranted for 12 months and installation for 6 months, and those terms are written on your quote. Because the tubing is modular, most warranty issues are resolved by servicing the affected section in place rather than remaking the sign.

  • BCA-Licensed Electrical Worker makes the mains connection
  • Public liability insurance for all on-site work
  • 12 months warranty on fabrication
  • 6 months warranty on installation
  • Modular tubing means most faults are repaired in place

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom LED neon sign cost in Singapore?

Small indoor pieces typically start around S$300 to S$700, mid-size business signs run roughly S$800 to S$2,800, and large or outdoor builds go from S$2,500 upward. Price is driven mainly by total tube length, which depends on letter count and how intricate the script is, plus the backing type and whether it is an indoor or outdoor build. We quote after a free site measurement.

How long does it take to make?

Most custom LED neon signs take about two to four weeks from approved artwork to installed sign. That covers the scaled mock-up and your approval, bending and assembly in the workshop, and the install itself, which is usually half a day. Larger pieces and anything needing high-level access or approvals take longer.

Can you make my logo exactly, or only text?

We bend to whatever artwork you can supply. Send vector artwork if you have it, or a clean high-resolution image and we will redraw it. Very fine detail and thin strokes are the one real limit, because the tube has a minimum bend radius. We will tell you honestly if part of a logo will not translate well and suggest how to simplify it without losing the brand.

Can LED neon signs go outside?

Yes, with the outdoor build. That uses a sealed IP65 rated sleeve, a weatherproof driver housing and corrosion resistant fixings. Standard indoor units should not be used anywhere they can be rained on or washed down. If you are unsure whether your position counts as sheltered, we will assess it during the site visit.

Do you make Chinese character and double happiness neon signs?

Yes, in both simplified and traditional forms. Chinese lettering needs correct stroke weight and spacing to read properly, so we set the characters out at full size and show you the layout before any bending starts. Double happiness pieces for weddings and restaurants are among our most requested single items.

How long will it last, and what happens if it fails?

LED emitters commonly run well past 30,000 hours of use, so a sign on twelve hours a day lasts years rather than months. The driver usually needs replacing before the tube does. Because the tube is modular, a failed section can normally be repaired in place instead of the whole sign being remade.

Do I need approval to put up a neon sign?

Interior signage inside your own unit generally does not. Signage on a building facade, projecting over a walkway, or on a conservation building often does, and mall and landlord guidelines apply on top. Requirements depend on your premises, so confirm the current rules for your unit. We factor the likely approval path into the design from the start.

Can I control the brightness or set it to switch off automatically?

Yes. We can fit a dimmer, a remote, or wire the sign into a timer so it turns itself off after closing. Dimming is worth considering for reception areas and restaurants where full brightness can feel harsh in the evening.

What warranty and insurance do you provide?

Every sign we make carries 12 months warranty on fabrication and 6 months on installation, and those terms are stated in writing on your quote rather than left implied. We also carry public liability insurance for all on-site work, including installations needing scaffolding or a boom lift, and we are BCA-LEW licensed, so any mains connection is made by our own licensed electrical worker.
