What we mean by custom signage
Custom signage is any sign made specifically for your business rather than bought off a shelf. That covers the lettering above your shopfront, the logo on your reception wall, the lit box that keeps you visible after dark, the directory that tells visitors which floor you are on, and the vinyl on your windows. Each is a different build, but all of them start the same way: your artwork, your dimensions, your site.
The reason businesses go custom is that a sign has one job, which is to be read and remembered by the right person at the right distance. A stock sign cannot do that because it does not know how far away your customers stand, how much light your frontage gets at 8pm, or what your brand colour actually is. We size, specify and finish each sign for the position it is going into, which is why we insist on measuring before quoting.

How to choose the right sign
The right signage depends on four things: how far away it needs to be read, whether it has to work after dark, how exposed the position is, and the impression you want to leave. A logo on a sheltered reception wall has almost nothing in common with a facade sign that takes direct sun and rain all year.
As a rough guide, if the sign has to pull people in from across a road or a mall walkway, you want it illuminated and you want the letters larger than feels necessary. If it is inside and people see it from a few metres, acrylic or metal lettering usually looks better than anything lit. If the frontage is glazed and you mostly want brand presence rather than legibility at distance, vinyl or a neon feature piece often does more for less money.
If you are not sure, that is exactly what the site visit is for. We would rather talk you into the cheaper option that suits the position than sell you a build that is wrong for it.
Materials and how they hold up here
We work mainly in acrylic, aluminium composite panel, stainless steel, powder coated mild steel, flexible LED neon and printed vinyl. Each behaves differently in Singapore conditions, and matching the material to the exposure is most of what makes a sign last.
Acrylic holds colour well and machines cleanly, which is why it suits logos and built-up lettering, but it is better under cover than in permanent direct sun. Aluminium composite panel is the workhorse for outdoor fascia because it stays flat and does not warp with heat. Stainless steel gives the most premium finish and handles weather without complaint, though it costs more and shows fingerprints in high-touch positions. Powder coated steel is a good middle ground where you want a specific colour outdoors.
The parts people forget are the fixings and the lighting. Cheap fixings rust and streak rust marks down a wall within a year. Underspecified LEDs dim unevenly and leave patchy sections. Both are invisible at quoting stage and very visible later.
Signage for a full premises fit-out
If you are opening or refitting a whole space, it is worth planning the signage as one package rather than ordering pieces as you remember them. A typical fit-out includes the main shopfront or fascia sign, interior branding such as a reception logo, wayfinding and directory signage, door and unit number plates, and any safety or statutory notices the premises needs.
Planning them together means one set of measurements, one colour standard across every piece, and one installation visit rather than four. It also lets us sequence the work around your opening date, since some elements need to go in before shopfitting finishes and others have to wait until after.

Most of the quote comes down to these choices. Settling them early is what keeps the price stable.

What signage costs in Singapore
A standard shopfront or office sign in Singapore generally runs between S$300 and S$3,500, depending on material, size and whether it is illuminated. Illumination and installation access are the two things that move a quote most, and neither is obvious until someone looks at the position.

Licensing, insurance and warranty
Signage work involves electrical connection and often working at height, so it is worth knowing what a supplier actually carries before you engage them. Any lit sign wired into mains supply has to be connected by a BCA-Licensed Electrical Worker. We are BCA-LEW licensed, so the same team that builds and installs your signage also makes the final connection rather than leaving you to arrange an electrician separately.
We carry public liability insurance for all on-site work, including installations that need scaffolding or a boom lift. Every sign we make is warranted for 12 months on fabrication and 6 months on installation, and those terms are written on your quote rather than being something you have to ask about later.

How much does custom signage cost in Singapore?
Most shopfront and office signage falls between S$300 and S$3,500. Do you handle design as well as making the sign?
Yes. We can work from your existing logo and brand guidelines, or develop the artwork with you if you do not have print-ready files. Either way we produce a scaled mock-up so you can see the real proportions on your actual wall before anything is fabricated.
How long does a signage project take?
A typical custom sign takes about two to four weeks from approved artwork to installed sign. That covers design and your approval, fabrication in the workshop, and the installation itself. Larger builds, multi-piece fit-outs and anything needing approvals or high-level access take longer.
Do I need approval for my signage?
Sometimes. Signage inside your own unit generally does not need authority approval. Signs on a building facade, projecting over a walkway, or on a conservation building often do, and your landlord or mall management will usually have their own guidelines on size, position and illumination. Requirements vary by premises, so confirm the current rules for your unit before fabrication.
Which type of sign should I choose?
It depends on reading distance, whether it needs to work after dark, and how exposed the position is. Illuminated signage suits frontages that need to pull people in from a distance or trade in the evening. Unlit acrylic or metal usually looks better indoors. We will recommend based on your actual position during the free site visit.
Do you install, or is that separate?
We install. Our own team handles delivery, mounting, levelling and connection, including work that needs access equipment. Keeping installation in-house is also why we insist on measuring first, since most installation surprises come from mounting surfaces and power positions nobody checked.
Can you match my existing brand colours?
Yes. Send your brand guidelines or the colour references you use, and we will match across every piece we make for you. This is the main practical reason to order all your signage from one supplier, because matching a colour across separate fabricators rarely comes out right.
Can you replace or repair an existing sign?
Often, yes. Faded faces, failed LEDs and damaged sections can frequently be repaired or refaced rather than replaced entirely, which is usually much cheaper. We will tell you honestly during the site visit whether a repair is worth doing or whether the structure has reached the end of its life.
What warranty and insurance do you provide?
Every sign we make carries 12 months warranty on fabrication and 6 months on installation, and those terms are stated in writing on your quote rather than left implied. We also carry public liability insurance for all on-site work, including installations needing scaffolding or a boom lift, and we are BCA-LEW licensed, so any mains connection is made by our own licensed electrical worker.
